Thought I'd post my current setup with which the last recording (Blues in F) has been recorded. For DAW I'm using Cubase since that had been shipped with my previous audio interface, the Tascam US-1642. I've sold that one because I wanted a more scalable (is that the right word) setup. So, current setup is:
2x KRK RP 5 G2 monitors on Samson stands
Mackie 1642 VLZ3 Mixer
Echo Audiofire 12 audio interface (very happy with this one)
Shure SM57 (used for trumpet)
Yamaha MC 7 (sometimes used for trumpet, not in posted recordings)

The trumpet I mostly use is a vintage Conn Connstellation 38B '72 with a load of mouthpieces. For 'Blues in F' I used an original Conn Connstellation 7B-N mouthpiece; gold plated and with 'Connstellation' engraved. I love the combination of these two for dark sound. Other then that I've got my Olds Studio '47-ish which I still love very much, but don't use all that often. For flugelhorn I've got a Roy Benson FH-302G. Also a very nice sounding instrument.

Here's something to listen to: The Wind Cries Mary (On Trumpet: Arnoud Hensen)

Last week my teacher asked me to focus on the chord-progression and try a simple lick in the twelfth bar (A C E G F# E D C B). After a few tries, this is the result: Summertime (On Trumpet: Arnoud Hensen)
